Amberay bursts onto the musical radar as one of the most enigmatic emerging artists of 2016. With no real information about the teenage singer, it’s the combination of her ethereal vocal to a blissful, low-key drum and bass instrumental courtesy of the equally mysterious producer Morsecode that excites here. It’s hard to believe that Amberay is just 14 years old.

Conjuring a naturally precocious, innately cool style perhaps comparable to early Grimes, it’s Amberay’s production partner Morsecode that helps to lift “I Say Stop” to excitingly experimental, leftfield influences such as Sneaker Pimps and Tricky. 

The undeniably intriguing fashion in which Amberay has entered into the spotlight at such a young age with such an inventive, poised style is what makes her such a prospect. The girl’s age is almost unbelievable, however the music seems equally as gloriously timeless.
