Lykke Li on writing her second album

Stockholm native Lykke Li has revealed that moving to Los Angeles was a major catalyst in the creation of her new album, ‘Wounded Rhymes.’

“I had to cut myself off from the world and follow my own impulse, away from the promotional and touring schedule,” she told Spinner.com. “I went to LA, rented a house, got a piano - an upright - and pulled the plug on everything else. I spent some time in the desert, too, but not long.”

She added that the climate drew her to California.

“I enjoy the open spaces, the loneliness and the heat - I'm inspired by the landscape,” she says.

‘Wounded Rhymes’ is released on Monday, February 28th in the UK.
