Madness confirm new album in 2012

Iconic band Madness have confirmed that fans can expect a new album next year.

The 'Baggy Trousers' ska-pop heroes, who are set to perform at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals, will release a brand new record in 2012 and frontman Suggs told Digital Spy that despite setbacks caused by perfectionism, they aim to finish working on it before the year ends:

"It'll definitely come out next year - hopefully we'll finish it this year. We were hoping to get it done but then we decided to postpone the whole thing because we weren't completely satisfied with what we've done so far."

"We're working on it and I think it's that thing... when you're young you have all the time in the world. We don't spend 24 hours a day working on music like we used to when we were younger, so you have to do it in batches - sporadic, intense."

This forthcoming record will be the band's first since their 2009 album, 'The Liberty of Norton Folgate', and you can catch them this weekend at Reading and Leeds.
