Video footage has emerged of Madonna and Miley Cyrus performing together.

The two acts recently teamed up on stage for the latter's MTV Unplugged show.

They ran through a mash-up of Madonna's 'Don't Tell Me' and Cyrus's hit single 'We Can't Stop'.

The show aired last night (January 29) in the States and fans have been lapping up the blockbuster collaboration.

It saw Cyrus open the tune before Madonna, who was sitting in the crowd, rise up and join her on stage.

Both acts went with a cowboy theme as they wore hats and Wild West clothing.

Cyrus mined her latest album 'Bangerz' for a number of tunes at the gig, with the likes 'Wrecking Ball' and 'Adore You' getting aired.

She was following in the footsteps of previous Unplugged performers such as Nirvana and Bruce Springsteen.
