Madonna is to direct a new movie, it has been widely reported.

The singer, who lorded over the 2011 flick 'W.E', is to direct the film Ade.

The romantic movie is based on the Rebecca Walker novel Ade: A Love Story.

The book is the story of an American student, who falls for a young Muslim man from an island off the coast of Kenya. They want to marry, but their plans are obstructed by a civil war.

Bruce Cohen is due to produce the movie alongside director of development Jessica Leventhal.

In terms of music meanwhile, Madonna has recently been working with Swedish DJ Avicii on new tunes.
