Madonna took to Instagram yesterday to share a particular image and message with her fans.

Yesterday (August 16) saw the ‘Material Girl’ celebrating her 56th birthday.

After receiving many warm wishes from fans throughout the day via social media, Madonna posted a topless image of herself dating back to the 1990s (see image left) along with the caption:

“In my Birthday suit! [sic] The girl can’t help it! Thanks for all your good wishes!!!!”

Later in the evening fashion photographer Mert Alas gave an insight into how Madonna was celebrating when he posted a picture on Instagram showing the birthday girl partying with supermodel Kate Moss (see image below).

Madonna is currently working on a new album and has teamed up with a number of collaborators including Avicii and Diplo.
