Madonna falls on BRITs stage (video)

Madonna took a tumble backwards missing two steps during her performance of 'Living For Love' at the BRITs due to a wardrobe malfunction.

Whilst trying to unfasten her cape, so that her dancers could pull it off, the cape's clasp would not give yet her dancers still yanked the garment. This caused Madonna to be pulled backwards down three steps that she had just climbed. Her balance was already compromised by extremely high Louboutin shoes.

She managed to stumble backwards down the first step but, as the cape was still being pulled by a dancer, she totally fell down the remaining two steps and either landed flat on her back whilst possibly hitting her head.

Her closing performance at London's O2 was her first performance at the BRITs since 1995 and was highly anticipated throughout the night's event which saw Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Paloma Faith and Taylor Swift win awards.

Madonna being ever the professional performer continued her performance even though it was obvious she would have been in tremendous pain.

She was singing the lyrics: "Not gonna stop, gonna carry on," and that's exactly what the superstar did.

Madonna has since released a message on Instagram saying: "Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I'm fine! ❤️ #livingforlove"
