Madonna on age trolls: 'No one would make a degrading remark about being black or gay, so why age?'

'Living For Love' sensation Madonna has revealed that people wouldn't dare slam someone for being 'black or gay' publicly so she doesn't understand why individuals think it's acceptable to hate on her because of her age.

In a new interview with the Rolling Stone, the Queen of Pop hit out at trolls who criticise her for being 56 and still incredibly active:

"No one would dare to say a degrading remark about being black or dare to say a degrading remark on Instagram about someone being gay. But my age—anybody and everybody would say something degrading to me. And I always think to myself, why is that accepted? What's the difference between that and racism, or any discrimination?"

She went onto add that she won't be pressured into toning things down or retiring because she refuses to follow the rules or conform to supposed standards:

"They're judging me by my age. I don't understand. I'm trying to get my head around it. Because women, generally, when they reach a certain age, have accepted that they're not allowed to behave a certain way. But I don't follow the rules. I never did, and I'm not going to start."
