Madonna on her Rebel Heart tour: 'I want people to leave the venues feeling inspired'

Superstar Madonna has opened up about goals for her Rebel Heart tour, which is due to kick off this fall, and admitted that she is aiming to explore the themes of love and romance with this new stage show.

Speaking to The Canadian Press about her upcoming jaunt, which will begin on September 9 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada, the Queen of Pop explained that she wants to inspire the fans that come to see her perform:

"The theme I really truly explore in this show more than anything is love and romance. I want people to walk out like they're feeling inspired and like they've seen something they've never seen before (and) felt something they've never felt before."

She went onto add that figuring out and finalising the setlist has been a challenge: "I realise I have 32 years of other songs, so I have to pick and choose. I sit there for weeks and weeks and weeks trying to figure out which of my old catalog I want to do. It's a puzzle that we have to put together 'cause thematically the songs -- the old and the new -- they have to go together; sonically they have to go together."
