Madonna shared an emotional throwback picture of her son Rocco amidst the custody battle between her and former husband Guy Ritchie.

The Queen of Pop posted a photo on Instagram of Rocco on her back as a baby, with the words, ‘Tu me manqué,’ which is ‘I miss you' in French (see below).

In December last year (2015) her 15-year-old son was ordered to return home to New York after refusing to board a flight back from London, where he has been spending time with his filmmaker father. He has yet to return.

Madonna followed up the Instagram post with an image containing a Lewis Carroll quote from Alice in Wonderland (see below):

‘Alice: How long is forever?

White Rabbit: Sometimes, just one second.’

Madonna captioned it with an hour glass emoji. 

The custodial hearing has been pushed back from February 3 until March 2.
