Madonna shoots straight to the top of the UK albums chart

Madonna looks set to land herself yet another No.1 this coming weekend after she topped the midweek UK albums chart this afternoon (March 28).

The singer's 'MDNA' is a new entry at the top of the chart and the Official Charts Company say she is a comfy 29,000 copies ahead of her nearest competitor, David Guetta's 'Nothing But The Beat'.

In at No.3 is Adele's '21' whilst Emeli Sandé's 'Our Version Of Event's rests at No.4.

Completing the top five is Katy Perry's new entry 'Teenage Dream: Complete Confection'.

Elsewhere in the midweek albums chart, Noah Stewart's self-titled debut album comes in at No.10 whilst Iron Maiden's 'En Vivo' lands at No.11.
