Madonna "scraps Australia tour plans"

Madonna has cancelled plans to tour Australia on her MDNA world tour.

It had been widely reported in the country that the singer was due to announce dates for Melbourne and Sydney in early 2013.

It is said she was set to reveal the concerts on July 12, but decided to hold off until after the Olympic Games.

A spokesman for Live Nation poured cold water over the rumours however, saying:

"Madonna's tour will end in South America in December as planned. That's all we can say."

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Madonna's manager Guy Oseary told the concert promoters of their decision to scrap the dates overnight (July 17).
