Madonna pokes fun at Lady Gaga: "Imitation is the highest form of flattery"

Madonna took a swipe at Lady Gaga on stage over the weekend.

The Queen of Pop was performing in Atlantic City on Saturday (September 15) when she dedicated her track 'Masterpiece' to Lady Gaga.

However, her tongue was firmly in cheek as she appeared to suggest the 'Marry The Night' star was copying her.

Gaga's 2011 single 'Born This Way' was widely likened to Madonna's 'Express Yourself', with the 'Like a Virgin' singer often bringing up the comparison in public.

Speaking on stage at the weekend, Madonna said: "I'm gonna dedicate this next song to Lady Gaga. 'Cause you wanna know something? I love her. I love her. I do love her. Imitation is the highest form of flattery..."

The 'MDNA' singer then appeared to suggest that the pair could be set to share the stage in the near future, teasing:

"One day, very soon, we're gonna be on stage together. Just you wait."
