Madonna is the UK’s biggest-selling female singles artist ever

Madonna has been named as the UK’s biggest-selling female singles artist ever.

The Queen of Pop has officially sold 17.8 million singles during her 30-year-career, as revealed in a list published by the Official Singles Chart, with 1985’s 'Into The Groove' her biggest seller.

Rihanna placed second with 11.4 million sales accrued in just seven years, with 'We Found Love' named as her biggest hit, whilst Kylie Minogue finished third with 10.2 million sales, the most successful of which was 2001 chart-topper 'Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.'

Not one British artist made it into the Top 10 which saw Whitney Houston in 4th, followed by Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and Olivia Newton-John.
