Mariah Carey forced to cancel Brussels performance

Mariah Carey has been forced to cancel her plans to perform in Brussels.

The news comes after Tuesday's (March 22) terror attacks, which claimed the lives of at least 34 people.

The superstar, who is currently on her Sweet Sweet Fantasy European Tour, was all set to take to the stage at the Forest National arena on Easter Sunday tomorrow (March 27) but announced on Twitter that she's been advised not to continue with her show.

She tweeted: "I love my fans in Brussels and at this time I am being advised to cancel my show for the safety of my fans, my band, crew and everyone involved with the tour.

"I hope to see you soon and send my prayers and eternal love, laughter and light to my Lambs."

After hearing about the tragedy in Brussels, Carey tweeted this week: "My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Belgium."

The singer-songwriter, who is set to celebrate her 46th birthday tomorrow, is scheduled to return to the stage in Denmark on Tuesday (March 29) at the Forum Copenhagen.

Her international tour marks the tenth one in her multi-decade career and will take her from Scotland across Europe to Germany, Italy, Poland and finish in South Africa on May 2.
