Mariah Carey has revealed that she will probably unveil her new album early next year.

The vocal star released the track 'Triumphant (Get 'Em)' in August and she is currently working on a full album.

This comes despite Carey landing a role as a judge on American Idol, where she is working with the likes of Nicki Minaj.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest, the singer said that she would actually like to release her album before January there is still work to do. She said:

"I want to go sooner, but I guess it wouldn't be ready until around January, somewhere around there."

Carey continued: "I wanted to put another single out, a ballad. I love it, but I'm still writing, I'm still working. So, you never know what it's going to end up being."
