Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' named top festive hit

Festive favourite 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' by Mariah Carey has been named the best holiday hit in a new poll.

A new survey was conducted by the website PromotionalCodes.org.uk and 600 people were asked to name their favourite Christmas song, which resulted in Carey's classic coming out at No.1 with an impressive 26% of the final vote.

In second place was the Pogues and Kirsty MacColl's 'Fairytale of New York' with 19% and Slade's 'Merry Xmas Everybody' had 16%. Perhaps surprisingly, Wham!'s 'Last Christmas' finished in fifth place with only 9% in total.

Mariah Carey, meanwhile, recently opened up about her family's experience of Christmas and explained that they tend to have bad luck over the holidays so are hoping this year will be the exception:

"We've had a couple difficult seasons these past years. Nick had a health scare. We went to the hospital one Christmas, that was a tough year for us. whatever it is will make you stronger."
