Ballin' Dancefloor Banger by DJ Rags ft Mann High on Radio 1 Playlists

DJ Rags releases 2nd UK single with Return of the Mack rap star Mann, after being first Punjabi DJ to be hyped by Scoop Fatman in his 1st single Balle Balle after half a decade topping India's Bhangra Chart.

DJ Rags was born in Slough, Berkshire and by the age of 18 became one of the hottest Bhangra and Commercial Dj's in West London, performing in venues including Ministry of Sound, Equinox, Lepalais and Bagleys.

Famous for getting the party started, MC Fatman Scoop features in DJ Rags 2013 hit Balle Balle, mostly comprised of Scoop hyping DJ Rags with some swish cars and scantily clad girls in the video.

With influences including Jazzy Jeff, Funk Master Flex, Jam Master Jay, DJ Rags has updated his record label, previously Calibar Records to now be called Dirty Rags. This reflects the commercial, house beats and modern hip hop fused with the original DJ Rags sound with fundamental Indian sounds.

24 Hour Recording                                                                                                                                                                                     Now familiar with the international talent roster, Rags then heard rapper Mann was on his UK tour and felt one track would be perfect for him. A meeting was arranged, which turned into a full 24 hour recording session and the single 'Ballin' was created.

Already all over Radio 1 and 1 Xtra playlists, DJ Rags teams up with rapper Mann for his second UK single Ballin. Back in March on In the Mix For Those Cold Nights Nahil Rags’ first UK release Balle Balle with Fatman Scoop gets a special mention on the Radio 1 show listing: ‘Nihal spins new music from Swami, DJ Rags & Badeshi before going deep in the mix filled with dark moody dubstep, fitting for the cold nights.’

Rags worked with Snoop Dogg on his video for the Return of the Mack, which featured Rags other collaborators Mann and Iyaz. Dogg is no stranger to Bollywood after he featured in a music video for the title track of triple award winning Asian film Singh in Kinng.

Scoop Hyping

In India, Rags has worked with all the top Bollywood and Punjabi artists and other more familiar names. Jazzy B has been kept off the number one slot in India by DJ Rags. Jazzy B and DJ Rags have been gracing the BBC Punjabi playlists alongside other names that have become increasingly familiar to the west since Slumdog Millionaire: RDB (featuring Snoop Dogg), Akshay Kumar and Kray Twinz.

Rags has toured across the UK and played in Thailand, China, Canada and the USA, as well as two-month tour of India, during which MC Fatman Scoop became the first international commercial artist to hype a Desi act.

Western Mixes

This is despite RDB (Rhythmn Dhol Bass), three British Sikh brothers who collaborated with DJ H and Rags on reloaded, pioneering the mix of western music styles with traditional Punjabi beats and vocals in 2001.

DJ H and DJ Rags album ‘Reloaded’ was released in India and went straight in at number 1 in the official Panjabi charts within six days of being on sale.
