Former Spice Girl Mel C has been discussing the ageing process.

The Sporty Spice star turned 40 last week which she celebrated with a live gig at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

Speaking about the concert, which saw her reunited on stage with her fellow Spice Girl Emma Bunton, Melanie told The Mirror:

“Obviously I went crazy at the weekend. We drank tequila, ate cake and that was wonderful.”

Chisholm also opened up about how she retains her looks now that she has turned 40.

The ‘When You’re Gone’ singer explained she has undergone non-surgical cosmetic procedures in the past as she stated:

“I'm not averse to a bit of Botox and there's probably not a lot of people in the public eye who haven't had it. They all have!”

She added: “I avoided it for a long time but then I had it and really loved it. If you have a tiny, tiny bit then I think it's fine. But it does terrify me, that stuff.”

However she is wary of avoiding taking Botox to the extreme by commenting:

“You see people who go too far and I never, ever want to become that person - that person whereby you lose the reality of what you look like.”
