Melanie C on turning down Spice Girls reunion: "I've learned to say no"

Rumours of a Spice Girls 20th anniversary reunion have been circulating all year, but member Melanie Chisholm has revealed that she felt compelled to say no because she needs to be around for her daughter, seven-year-old Scarlett.

She spoke exclusively to The Sun this week about the Spice Girls reunion and admitted that she felt bad for letting people down, but knew that turning it down was the right thing to do for her:

“The thing I’ve learned is to say ‘No’ more because, by nature, I’m a people pleaser. I had to think about myself and the most important thing in my life, which is being a mother to my little girl. I had to be present for her."

"It was a hard decision, not only letting down the girls but all the fans who want it to happen. But we’re four individuals, we’ve gone on to have separate lives and careers and want different things. We always said we had to be comfortable but lots of people were getting involved and I wasn’t comfortable with the direction that it was taking."

Tickets for Melanie C's upcoming tour, which is in support of her new album Version of Me, will go on sale tomorrow (October 21). She will visit Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, London and Birmingham on the jaunt, which will begin on April 4.
