M.I.A. reveals that she talked to Rihanna about collaborating

M.I.A. has revealed that she spoke to 'Where Have You Been' sensation Rihanna about collaborating on a song together.

In a Periscope video, which you can watch below in full, the 'Paper Planes' hitmaker explained that she almost worked with Rihanna on a collaborative project, but they couldn't get their respective schedules to align so it didn't end up happening:

"There was a moment where me and Rihanna were talking about collaborating but she's on tour in the U.S. and I had to go to Jamaica a lot to work."

As previously reported, M.I.A. recently told London's Evening Standard newspaper that her upbringing in Sri Lanka was tough and she wasn't sure she would make it out of the country alive:

“I feel like I should have died a long time ago. I’m surprised I’m still alive, to be honest. I came from war. When I was growing up I didn’t really think I’d live beyond about 25... I never thought I would be old enough to drive or have a house or raise a child. Having to do it is really difficult.”
