Miley Cyrus and Madonna team up for cowboy-themed MTV Unplugged duet

Miley Cyrus and Madonna have performed together for MTV's Unplugged series.

The 'Bangerz' star has recorded an episode of the stripped-back show and it is due to air in the US tonight (January 29).

Reports surfaced that Madonna had featured as a guest in the set and those rumours have now been confirmed by MTV.

They teamed up for a mash-up of the Queen of Pop's 'Don't Tell Me' and Cyrus's 'We Can't Stop', with the duo rocking a cowboy theme.

The 'Vogue' star later shared a photo of herself and her new colleague on Instagram.

It's the second big name collaboration in recent days for Madonna, who teamed with Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, Queen Latifah and Mary Lambert at the Grammy Awards.

That performance, however, saw, 33 couples get married live on TV.
