Miley Cyrus wants to be remembered for her voice and not shock value

Miley Cyrus has admitted that she wants her singing to be remembered in years to come - not her behaviour.

The US star has shot to fame over the past couple of years for her over-sexualised antics, such as twerking at the VMAs and stripping off for photoshoots.

Speaking to the US OK! magazine, Cyrus said that she wants to be remembered however more for her music, not her "shock" value. She said:

"I know people make it seem like all I do is come out and shock people. That isn't what it is. I think what girls see is that there's a feminist energy there.

"I'm more focused on people being excited about me as a singer rather than someone who shocks people. I want people to be like, 'She did some things that were crazy, but at the end of the day it was all about her voice'."

Cyrus meanwhile added that she often takes a lot of time out before her live shows in an effort to give 100% to her audience and curb her nerves. The 'We Can't Stop' lady said:

"If I get nervous I need to lock it down. I need to sit out, get my mind right and rest my voice...I want it to be something that's worth going to see. I understand that my fans are young, they work hard to [get the money to] come to my show. My priority is giving them the best show I possibly can."
