Miley Cyrus defends use of little people on tour: 'I'm making them feel sexual'

'We Can't Stop' superstar Miley Cyrus has defended her use of little people on her current 'Bangerz' tour and insists that they're part of her crew because of their talent.

During a new interview with MSNBC's Ronan Farrow, she explained that some of her backing dancers are little people but they're included because they're great at what they do and she wants to give them an opportunity to feel beautiful:

"We're making them feel sexual and beautiful. We're all about lifting her up and making her feel so sexy all the time, and having her dance - she's actually an awesome dancer. They're just like dancing, doing these cute moves and they're awesome dancers just on their own. It's not me telling them how to be."

"It's really funny how serious people take it. And [people are] like, 'You're racist.' And I'm like, 'Really?' We're like a bunch of kids dancing around in, like, bear [suits], we don't do choreography."

Last year, dancer Hollis Jane told the press that being part of Cyrus's stage show was "degrading": "I had never been in a performance where I was purely meant to be gawked or laughed at. I will never forget that performance because it is what forced me to draw my personal line in the sand. I was being stared at and laughed at for all the wrong reasons. I was being looked at as a prop ... as something less than human. For the first time I felt truly ashamed of being a little person."
