Miley Cyrus headlined iHeartRadio Australia festival cancelled

The first iHeartRadio Australia Music Festival has been shelved only weeks after being announced.

As previously reported, it was confirmed in late August that the radio network would host their first festival in Australia on October 18 at Sydney's Allphones Arena.

Miley Cyrus was scheduled to headline the event, with the likes of Red Foo and Cody Simpson on the undercard.

However, the event's promoters admitted on Thursday (September 11) that the concert has been cancelled due to another band's availability.

They said in a statement: "As a consequence of the unavailability of another headline act, due to be announced this week, we have cancelled the event for now."

The gig was due to follow on from the main iHeartRadio Music Festival, which is held yearly in Las Vegas.
