Miley Cyrus thought GRAMMY nomination was a joke: 'I won't be crying if I don't win'

Songstress Miley Cyrus has revealed that she didn't believe her 2015 GRAMMY nomination when it was first announced and thought it was a joke.

Her 2013 record 'Bangerz' has been nominated in the Best Pop Vocal Album category and she confessed that when she first heard the news she genuinely didn't believe it: "I thought it was a joke."

Cyrus told Entertainment Tonight that she had to go online to confirm the news: "My friend was in my room and said, 'Hey! You just got nominated for a Grammy.' And I was like, 'You're kidding ... there's no way.' I Googled and I was like, 'Oh yeah! I am, I actually am!'"

The 'We Can't Stop' superstar is up against the likes of Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Sam Smith, Katy Perry and Ariana Grande for the prize, and when asked if she's ready for the ceremony on February 8 she admitted that she has no expectations and is just happy to have been considered:

"I don't know. I'm pretty mellow with that kind of stuff... I'm not a pessimist but I'm just saying I won't be crying myself to sleep if I don't win a Grammy. You know?"

This year's Grammys will take place in Los Angeles on February 8, with the likes of AC/DC, MadonnaEd Sheeran, and Sam Smith due to perform live.
