Miley Cyrus receives the amfAR Award of Inspiration

'We Can't Stop' sensation Miley Cyrus accepted the amfAR Award of Inspiration at last night's Inspiration Gala in New York and revealed that she was honoured to receive the prize.

amfAR, which is an international nonprofit organisation dedicated to the support of AIDS research, shared a snapshot of Cyrus accepting the award via Instagram (pictured left) and accompanied it with the following touching caption:

"I want to work every day to do something good for someone else or I will feel not only as if this honour has just been wasted but my life and all the influence that comes with it. And I hope that one day I'm on this earth to experience an #AIDS free world." @MileyCyrus moves the room upon accepting the amfAR Award of Inspiration. #amfARInspiration #MACVivaGlam @happyhippiefdn."

Cyrus, meanwhile, recently teamed up with Instagram to launch #InstaPride, which will tell the stories of transgender people and speaking in a new interview with Time about the campaign, Cyrus said that body parts don't define her: "I'm just equal. I'm just even. It has nothing to do with any parts of me or how I dress or how I look. It's literally just how I feel."
