Miley Cyrus has been named the most beautiful woman in the world by Maxim.

The singer beat off competition from respective silver and bronze medallists Selena Gomez and Rihanna.

The news comes as no surprise, however, after Cyrus tweeted recently that she had topped the magazine's list.

Coming in at No.4 and No.5 on the list are actresses Mila Kunis and Jennifer Lawrence.

Other music related entrants include Katy Perry at No.11, Taylor Swift at No.13 and Beyoncé at No.14.

Kunis meanwhile recently topped FHM's list of the world's sexiest women.
