Miley Cyrus praises Disney for introducing same-sex relationship into TV show

Former 'Hannah Montana' superstar Miley Cyrus has 'commended' the writers behind Disney's show, 'Good Luck Charlie', after it was announced that the series will feature a same-sex couple.

The 'We Can't Stop' beauty, who was a Disney child star herself, posted a series of messages via her official Twitter page about the exciting announcement and congratulated the company on being progressive and accepting:

"I commend Disney for making this step into the light of this generation. They control… so much of what kids think!"

"Life isn't bright sets & wardrobe & kids becoming superstars! This is Inspiring."

'Good Luck Charlie' will return soon for a fourth series and the producers told TV Guide that introducing a same-sex couple into the cast was an important and big move for Disney:

"This particular storyline was developed under the consultancy of child development experts and community advisors. Like all Disney Channel programming, it was developed to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness."
