Miley Cyrus earns midweek UK No.1 with new single 'We Can't Stop'

American pop superstar and actress Miley Cyrus has shot straight in to No.1 this afternoon (August 7) on the UK Top 40 with her party anthem, 'We Can't Stop'.

She entered the singles chart in the coveted position during today's midweek update and the Official Charts Company confirmed she is currently outselling her nearest competitior, which is Avicii with 'Wake Me Up' at No.2, by 2 copies to 1 at this midway point.

The second highest new entry is Tinie Tempah's 'Trampoline', which made an impressive appearance at 3, and Justin Timberlake's 'Take Back The Night' debuted at No.32.

One Direction's 'Best Song Ever' has dropped 2 positions to No.7, Rudimental's 'Right Here' ft. Foxes climbed 10 spots to No.16, and 'Little Talks' by Of Monsters And Men has risen a sizeable 14 places to sit at No.20.

Cyrus, meanwhile, announced the title of her upcoming new album last night and confirmed to her fans around the world that it will be called 'BANGERZ'. There has been a mixed reaction from her followers about the title so far.
