Miley Cyrus defended by fans after controversial VMA performanceMiley Cyrus fans have backed the singer after she was criticised for her performance at the MTV VMAs. The US star played live at the glitzy ceremony in Brooklyn last night (August 25) but her slot has been the subject of much online talk. Cyrus donned a nude-coloured bikini and hotpant combo for the performance, which included a collaboration with Robin Thicke. She danced seductively next to 'Blurred Lines' star, bending over in front of Thicke and twerking her bottom. Many, however, believed that her performance went too far. Fans have stuck up for the embattled singer on Twitter, with one user saying: "Tbh Miley doesn't deserve half the hate she's getting bc if it was Rihanna or someone doing what she did on stage there would be no problem." Another account said: "We don't give a f*ck on what you thought about Miley's vmas performance, I'd love to see your idol doing that. She entertains people."
