Miley Cyrus's father Billy Ray has said that he would have twerked at the MTV VMAs.

The 'We Can't Stop' lady turned heads at the Brooklyn ceremony on Sunday (August 25) after she danced seductively with collaborator Robin Thicke.

Many thought Cyrus bypassed taste boundaries as she got down and dirty with the 'Blurred Lines' man.

Taking to Twitter, however, Miley said that her dad Billy Ray Cyrus told her that he would have done the same. She said:

"Mile, if twerkin woulda been invented....And I had a foam finger....I woulda done the same thang you did." - DAD."
