Miley Cyrus has hinted that she wanted break from former fiancé Liam Hemsworth as far back as February.

The singer announced her split from the actor earlier this month after months of being engaged.

However, the 'We Can't Stop' star told Fashion magazine that she penned new track 'Drive' on Valentine's Day after deciding that she wanted to leave someone - presumably Hemsworth. Cyrus said:

"I wrote it while I was working on Valentine’s Day - emotionally it was such a hard time. It is about needing to leave someone but not really wanting to completely cut yourself off from the relationship. It’s a time when you want to leave but you can’t. It’s also about moving on."

Cyrus also appears on the cover of the November Fashion magazine, sporting a black lace dress.

The singer meanwhile is due to release new album 'Bangerz' on October 7 in the UK and a day later in the US.
