Miley Cyrus achieves double chart victory with 'Wrecking Ball' topping UK singles chart

Miley Cyrus has achieved her second chart topping single of the year as ‘Wrecking Ball’ crashes into the UK chart at No. 1.

Following on from the news that Cyrus’ new LP ‘Bangerz’ has also debuted at No. 1 in this week’s album chart, this makes the 20-year-old actress and singer the first artist of the 2013 to achieve a No. 1 album and single simultaneously.

A new entry just behind Miley’s ‘Wrecking Ball’ in this week’s chart is Detroit rapper Eminem with ‘Berzerk’ debuting at No. 2.

‘Counting Stars’ – last week’s chart topping song – by OneRepublic has now slipped two places to No. 3.

A further two new entries complete this week’s top five with Conor Maynard’s ‘R U Crazy’ at No. 4 and The Saturdays’ ‘Disco Love’ at No. 5.

Another couple of new songs appearing in this week’s top ten come from James Blunt with ‘Bonfire Heart’ at No. 6 and John Newman’s ‘Cheating’ at No. 9.

The highest climber of the week goes to Norwegian comedy double-act Ylvis with ‘The Fox’ ascending 22 places to reach No. 24.
