Miley Cyrus has been confirmed to perform at this year's MTV European Music Awards.

The ceremony is due to take place at Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome on November 10 and Katy Perry and The Killers are set to take the stage.

Cyrus - who is nominated for four awards at the show - has now been added to the line-up.

Other acts up for awards include Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, who both have five nominations each.

The addition of Cyrus to the line-up will strike up some controversy as a result of the singer's much talked about performance at August's MTV VMAs.

The US star turned heads at the Brooklyn ceremony by dancing and twerking provocatively with Robin Thicke.

Cyrus meanwhile hit No.1 in the UK albums chart on Sunday (October 13) with her record 'Bangerz'.
