Miley Cyrus: "I have a small group of five close friends … everyone else is just an acquaintance"

Miley Cyrus has been talking about her limited number of friends.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine the ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer revealed that she can count her number of friends on one hand as she likes to keep her social circle limited.

Cyrus explained: “I have a small group of five close friends who all pretty much work for me, everyone else is just an acquaintance.”

She added: “I have people around me I can relate to, people who get it and see what I'm doing.”

The ‘Bangerz’ songstress also appears to be selective about whom she takes advice from as she cited singer Cyndi Lauper and her godmother Dolly Parton as two women she is willing to listen to.

20-year-old Miley told Cosmopolitan: “The best advice I've been given was from Cyndi Lauper - she told me to go lasso the moon, meaning don't be afraid of anything. Just go and do anything you want to. I thought that was pretty cool and poetic.”

On taking inspiration from her country superstar godmother Cyrus said:

“She's taught me a lot about how you treat people. She always says 'hi' to the person on the bottom of the call sheet. I love that.”

Miley Cyrus will be performing at the MTV European Music Awards tonight (November 10) in Amsterdam.
