Miley Cyrus: "I feel like I'm one of the biggest feminists in the world"

Miley Cyrus reckons she is one of the "biggest feminists" around.

The singer has hit the headlines on numerous occasions this year for seemingly promoting an overly sexualised image.

It has provoked criticism across the world and famously encouraged Sinead O'Connor pen to a number of open letters to the singer to suggest that the industry is taking advantage of her.

However, Cyrus told BBC Radio 1 that her antics are all part of an act - something that tells females they can do what they want without fear. She said:

"I feel like I'm one of the biggest feminists in the world because I tell women to not be scared of anything. I don't actually walk around all day twerking with my tongue out dressed as a teddy bear."

Cyrus said in the same interview that she actually spends a lot of time in her house, despite having a reputation for partying and clubbing.

One of Cyrus's latest indiscretions meanwhile was smoking what looked like a joint on stage at Amsterdam's MTV EMAs on Sunday (November 10).

It has since been confirmed that authorities will investigate the smoking.
