Miley Cyrus on course to top Time's Person of the Year poll

Miley Cyrus is currently leading Time magazine's Person of the Year poll.

The 'Wrecking Ball' star has 24.1% of the vote in a publicly chosen race for the iconic title.

The publication says Cyrus "for better or for worse, has done the most to influence the events of the year."

In second place is Indian politician Narendra Modi with 12.5%, whilst Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is third.

Other names in the mix is CIA whistleblower Edward Snowden and Vladimir Putin.

Voting for Time's Person of the Year closes on December 4 and the winner of the vote will be announced on December 6.

The magazine, however, will pick their own victor on December 11.

Last year's winner was US President Barack Obama. The prize has been running since 1927.
