Miley Cyrus believes Joe Jonas was overreacting when he said in an interview that she and Demi Lovato encouraged him to try marijuana.

As previously reported, the US pop star said earlier this month that the two female stars coaxed him into trying the drug when he was a teenager.

Speaking to the New York Times, Cyrus has retorted by suggesting that the claim was a mask for Jonas' true desire to try weed himself.

She said: "If you want to smoke weed, you're going to smoke weed. There's nothing that two little girls are going to get you to do that you don't want to do. I thought maybe he [Jonas] was saying that like it was going to make him look bada**...We were so young that it's actually like 'How did you get peer pressured by me?'."
