'Lose Control' hitmaker Missy Elliott has spoken out about her hiatus and confessed that she plans to return to music as she has been working on new material.

Her last album, entitled 'The Cookbook', was released back in 2005, but she recently told Yahoo that new music is coming although she doesn't want to reveal a date just yet.

She also admitted that she stepped away from music for a while because sometimes "your brain needs time to refresh":

"When I create something, it's got to be special. And it can't just be to throw something out there because I feel like I'm Missy. I'm just trying to make sure that what I give is 100 percent because I know the expectation is high from my fans, and it's high of myself."

The 'Work It' superstar then added: "It's coming, I just ain't telling nobody when."
