Muse to Play at 2010 SXSW Festival

Arena prog rockers Muse will perform a club show at Stubb's in Austin, TX as part of the South by Southwest Music Festival. Although the band's label representatives at Warner Music say that no show is confirmed, multiple Billboard sources have confirmed the band will perform on Saturday (March 20) on a bill that also includes Canadian pop rock band Metric.

Muse just performed a sold out show at Madison Square Garden in New York City last Friday (March 5).

The number of major, established artists announced to perform at SXSW is notably less than in years past, with Courtney Love's revived Hole, Motörhead, Spoon, Band of Horses, Tom Morello's Street Sweeper Social Club and the unusual pairing of the Wallflowers' Jakob Dylan and alt-country favorite Neko Case leading a pack of more than 1500 bands and musicians set to perform during the annual five night event that fills every last performance space in the Texas capital.

Also rumored to appear are rapper Ludacris and the chart-topping group Black Eyed Peas, both of whom may show up at the Levi's/FADER Fort, although they remain unconfirmed.

The annual SXSW music festival runs from March 17-21.
