N-Dubz have been banned from going on The X Factor

Simon Cowell has banned N-Dubz from going on The X Factor, despite the band's vocalist, Tulisa Contostavlos, being on the judging panel.

Dappy has said that he is devastated by the decision:

"We wanted to go on The X Factor to be with Tulisa on Judges' Houses but the people who own it thought we were too much of a gamble, that we wasn't right. Instead Tulisa's been given Jessie J. That's cool too. Jessie is amazing, she's great, and we love that. But still the whole thing is wrong. I'm devastated they don't think we're capable of going on there and helping her."

The rapper, who has been working on a solo career, has said that the move by Cowell is a joke and that he should "watch his back":

"Gary Barlow chose Robbie Williams and he got Robbie Williams. Tulisa wanted me and Fazer but didn't get me and Fazer. It's a joke...Simon, I'm coming for you, bro. I don't care, I don't give two s**ts - you've made a big mistake, man. Watch your back, Simon!"

Tulisa determined to win as an X Factor judge

Tulisa Contostavlos wants people to know that she didn't just join the judging panel of X Factor to raise her profile and that she's determined to win.

The young N-Dubz star is currently working as a panelist and mentor on the talent contest's new season and she told The Sun that she's putting her heart and soul into helping her group to succeed:

"I care about my acts and I want them to win. If they fail, I don't want it to be because of me. I want it to be off their own back. I want to give it 100 per cent and feel I gave them all the ingredients to succeed. I will be very hands-on with the final four. I'll do all I can to guide them and help — I want to win."

Although she knows it won't be an easy task, she already knows how to pick out the serious contenders and added:

"Those are the ones who spend the night rehearsing and then go straight to bed. The people wanting to fool around aren't taking it seriously. Fine, go celebrate once you're through and when you've got the time — but otherwise, don't do it."

Tulisa Contostavlos has said in an interview with MTV that she would love to record a song with fellow X Factor judges Gary Barlow and Kelly Rowland.

The 23-year old N-Dubz star has said that once boot camp is finished in X Factor, maybe the three singers could come up with something:

"Gary’s already written a song with N-Dubz. I’m trying to get boot camp and judges’ houses out of the way before recording any solo material. But when I do, yeah, it would be a brilliant idea. I’d love to get Gary involved and even do something with Kelly, too, if possible.”

With only a couple of weeks left until boot camp begins on the TV show, maybe this idea could become a reality. Let's hope that poor Louis Walsh doesn't feel left out of all the fun!

N-Dubz's Tulisa Contostavlos admits she doesn't feel the need to change how she speaks or behaves now she's in the spotlight and she definitely isn't ashamed of her past.

In a new interview with Company magazine, the current X Factor judge explained that she isn't afraid to be honest about who she is and that this trait is unusual in the industry:

"People forget the girls that look up to me come from the same background. I'm their role model because I'm the only celebrity that doesn't lie about the fact that she swears, gets into arguments, or was naughty when she was younger; just because I swear occasionally doesn't make me a bad person. It makes me human."

She also addressed the common accusations that label her a "chav" and said, "what is a chav? Supposedly someone from a council estate with a cockney accent. That doesn't make you a bad person. I haven't got a problem with myself or the way I talk."

"I've been put down a lot in my life and that can either make you depressed, upset and introverted or you don't care anymore."

He said: "I'd love to be in something like the Inbetweeners. It's a great show and looks really fun to make. I'd go naked I wouldnt care. I'd happily get my bum out. I go skinny-dipping every time on holiday. I'm not afraid of my body. I'm the skinniest fat guy I've ever known."

Fazer also revealed he has already been approached to star as the lead in two British films.

However he is biding his time until the right role comes along.

He added: "I'm incredibly busy at the moment. I'm not sure I'm ready to take on a big role yet, I'd like to start off with something small."

N-Dubz's Tulisa Contostavlos appeared as a guest on Lorraine Kelly's morning show today, August 22, and revealed that she's unsure whether to perform on the X Factor stage like her predecessor, Cheryl Cole, once did.

The star, who is currently working as a judge on the popular talent competition, explained that she has big shoes to fill and doesn't want to be seen as trying to copy the 'Promise This' singer:

"I haven’t made any decisions about what I’m going to do musically because I’m just trying to focus on the job at hand. It’s a big role to take on but anything could happen. I’m not sure yet, I’m seeing how it goes."

She also addressed the recent reports that suggest she is imitating Cole's style and said that because she "is the most photographed woman in the country" there will always be situations where their outfits appear to be similar:

"People try new things and fortunately for her she was photographed doing it, so there’s always going to be pictures that you can compare between me and her."

N-Dubz's Tulisa revealed that in order to escape bullying at school she fell "in with this really hard crowd" and became "troublesome".

The 'Playing With Fire' singer and current X Factor judge explained to Style magazine that becoming bad herself was the only way out and at least she was "content being protected":

"My way of getting out of it was getting in with this really hard crowd - the hardest of the hard in the area. We were a wild bunch of girls but I was content being protected."

"Yeah we did naughty things. We pinched a couple of handbags and got into fights I wasn't part of a girl gang though, we were just a bunch of troublesome chicks."

She also opened up about what she got up to as a teen and revealed that she lost her virginity at the young age of 14:

"It was naughty, people were smoking [marijuana] on their lunch break. I was one of the lucky ones to keep my virginity as long as I did. There were kids s**gging in the toilets at the age of 12 in the break time."

"When did I lose my virginity? I can't say too long, I was about to turn 15. It's the environment we're from, it becomes normal."

The 'Spaceship' star spoke to BANG Showbiz after his set at yesterday's (July 10) T4 on the Beach and explained that as a rapper who's come "from nothing", he feels disappointed by people who allow teams of writers to create material for them:

"People who don't write their own songs shouldn't be allowed to be release them in the charts. We've come from nothing and wrote all our own stuff."

"Rappers who only feel they can rap and not do the chorus and let someone else do the chorus, that's cheating as well."

N-Dubz have spoken out about how the music industry recognizes success in the latest issue of Zoo Magazine.

Dappy, real name Costa, explained that the 'Playing With Fire' stars have sold more albums than some of the previous BRITs winners, but they still don't get a look in where award ceremonies are concerned:

"The BRIT Awards see success in number one singles."

"You get two number ones and you get quick status. They don't see album sales as a big thing and that's what N-Dubz are about."

"No one can beat our album sales. That's why the BRITs can do what they want. We've sold more albums than half of the nominees."

He added:

"There are artists who want what we have and we want what some of them have. We've only had one number one and we want more. But some artists would cut off their arms to have anywhere near the album sales we've had."

Speaking exclusively to The Observer today, February 20, Dappy, real name Costa, explained:

"Going triple platinum isn't good enough, I'd like to go quadruple platinum. We've sold a hell of a lot of albums over the past few years, but it's about exceeding what you've achieved. It's easy to get there – but holding on to the success is much harder."

He also admitted that criticism and hurtful remarks, especially from people on social networking sites, does affect him:

"I get depressed. I've gone to dark places for days when I've seen our music videos have dropped off the TV airplay charts. Or I read a rude comment about us on YouTube. It fills me with self-doubt."

Dappy added that his career in N-Dubz probably saved his life:

"If I wasn't doing music, I'd be doing something illegal. Music and my dad saved me from either jail or death."
