Ne-Yo moves to Motown, is given a creative role

R&B sensation Ne-Yo has revealed that he is changing record labels and will move from Def Jam to Motown.

In addition to this exciting news, the record company added that the 'Beautiful Monster' star will also be given a creative role and is set to be appointed senior VP of A&R. This new position will see Ne-Yo produce and mentor the label's existing talent while discovering and recruiting future stars.

Barry Weiss, Universal Republic and Island Def Jam Motown chairman/CEO, explained:

"His track record of success at Def Jam will always be a benchmark. But this move to Motown will provide new and inspiring challenges for Ne-Yo as both an artist and a key member of the new senior management team that is taking form at the label in 2012."
