Nicki Minaj says her new album "addresses things that I've never addressed before"

Rap star Nicki Minaj has been discussing what fans can expect from her forthcoming new album.

Titled ‘The Pink Print’, Nicki told Radio 1Xtra that her third LP will be more akin to her ‘Pink Friday’ debut rather than a continuation of her sophomore ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’.

Minaj explained: “I think the second album lacked a little bit of focus, I think the first album was very focused and very raw and just very real, and I think the third album is back to just being raw and real.”

She added: “I’m addressing things that I’ve never addressed before on the third album.”

The ‘Pills N Potions’ star also likened her third album to Jay Z’s ‘The Blueprint’ trilogy in terms of its potential influence on fellow female rappers.

She said: “Jay has had his ‘Blueprint’ albums and that’s what I feel like this album’s gonna be. I really feel like this album will be like a ‘Blueprint’ for female rappers to come.”

During the course of the radio interview Nicki Minaj also promised that fans should ready themselves for some new material from her in a fortnight.

She stated: “I have some stuff coming out in the next couple weeks that are gonna blow people’s minds.”
