Nicki Minaj breaks Michael Jackson US chart record

Nicki Minaj has beaten a US chart record set by Michael Jackson.

The rapper recently released the track 'Anaconda' in the country and it has hit No.19 on the Hot 100 chart.

This means that the former American Idol judge has bagged her 51st Hot 100 entry.

This is one more than Michael Jackson who, unlike Minaj, was the lead or co-lead artist on all of his singles.

The 'Super Bass' star is a featured guest artist on 31 of her 51 Hot 100 hits.

Minaj is now tied with Rod Stewart on the overall Hot 100 list and she took to Instagram to say:

"Made history today. I didn't even know I was tied with Michael Jackson with 50 Hot 100 entries on Billboard. Anaconda makes 51 and now I'm tied with Rod Stewart. God bless, and thank you."
