Nicki Minaj doesn't mind if she has developed a reputation as a bad guy on American Idol.

The flamboyant singer turned heads at the start of her judging role on the show last year by falling out with Mariah Carey on set.

Speaking to Capital FM, Minaj admitted that whilst she may be known for being hotheaded and honest, her true colours are now showing through. She said:

"I feel like I swayed a lot of people once they really got to know me. I don't really care about that - if somebody wants to look at me like a baddie or a goodie, it doesn't matter."

Minaj continued: "I know in my heart that every time I go on Idol I'm being genuine and honest, that's all I care about. I'm not up there trying to do anything other than that, and I think that the intelligent people in this world can see that."
