Rap superstar Nicki Minaj has opened up about her new fragrance, named Minajesty, as her David LaChapelle-shot poster campaign is unveiled.

The stunning photograph, which promotes the scent, shows the 'Starships' beauty posing with dramatically outstretched arms in front of an elaborate golden throne and she told People magazine that she hopes the image reflects the product and the way the perfume smells:

"I absolutely love this image and I hope my fans are as excited about it as I am. This new brand is striking, unforgettable, sexy and full of mystery... blending high fashion and pop art in such a remarkable way." Minaj added: "I want this fragrance to invite my Barbz [fans] to celebrate their glamorous side, live in the moment and be outrageous knowing that true power comes from within."

Last month, she took to her official Twitter page and confirmed that the scent is due to be released in the autumn: "#Minajesty ~ The new fragrance coming this Fall. #Minajesty smells like a passionate love affair. Mysterious and sexy. An unforgettable and hypnotizing..."
