Nicola Roberts is "quite a psychologist"

Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts, who has now launched her solo career, admits that her experience in the music industry has turned her into "quite a psychologist".

The 'Beat Of My Drum' singer revealed to London newspaper Metro that her background in the popular girl group taught her a lot because for the first few years they had no management to take care of them:

"I’ve turned into quite a psychologist. I have to work out whether someone can be trusted pretty quickly and the industry taught me to do that. We didn’t have management for the first four years so we all had to learn how to do things ourselves."

She also added that her hard life-lessons have influenced her songwriting where her solo career has been concerned so far:

"There’s a song called Sticks And Stones, which is about when I was 17 and I thought I’d won the jackpot when I got in the band [Girls Aloud], and then things not turning out as I might have expected. The middle eight on that song is very honest and truthful."
