A rep for Nicole Scherzinger has poured cold water over speculation that the singer has quit the X Factor.

Reports emanating in today's press suggests that the Pussycat Doll has made up her mind and will not return as a judge to the UK talent show later this year.

The news comes after Simon Cowell revealed that he will rejoin the programme and has been trying to encourage Cheryl Cole to do the same.

However, a spokesperson for Scherzinger has stated that the singer hasn't quit the show and is still talking to producers about a potential return.

They said: "Nicole is still in discussions with X Factor bosses about the show."

Last year's X Factor panel consisted of Scherzinger, Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne.

Sam Bailey, who was mentored by Osbourne, was the eventual winner of the 2013 series.
