Nicole Scherzinger: 'I think about deep, deep sh*t when I sit in the dark listening to my own songs'

Songstress Nicole Scherzinger has confessed that having to be incredibly bubbly and sociable all the time really takes its toll on her so when she unwinds, she likes to sit quietly in the dark.

Speaking exclusively to InStyle magazine, the beauty admitted that it's tough to always be on her A-game in front of fans and cameras, so when she finally has alone time she likes to just be quiet and turn down the lights in order to relax fully:

"It's just heightened levels of yourself. When I'm on a show, I'm putting my best foot forward, I'm giving you energy, I'm giving you me. Now, when I'm not in front of the cameras, you might get a more, I don't know what it is... like a more intellectual, really deep-thinking Nicole, because I tend to do that a lot. Like last night, I was in the dark playing some of my songs on repeat, thinking of ideas. Just life. Deep, deep sh*t."

She went onto add that while she does experience periods of introversion, she isn't bothered by those moods because they're great for creativity and allow her to really access her feelings:

"It's always good when you have those moments, because that's when you can create. I've got a lot of things on my mind and I'm trying [to tick off] one box at a time. Last night, I felt overwhelmed, so I put on some of my own music that's slightly depressing and I loved it. I wallowed in it. I woke up and I feel great."
